Committee Activities

Outside of the NMPRSA Board of Directors, these committees provide opportunities for members to be involved with chapter activities. 

Committees are crucial to accomplishing chapter goals each year. Both standing committees and special committees carry out projects that help the chapter meet its strategic plan. 

If you are interested in joining or working with any of the committees listed below, please contact any member of the Board of Directors.

Standing Committees

Program Committee - Develops topics for the monthly NMPRSA luncheons. This committee also seeks speakers and locations for the luncheons.

Membership Committee - Assists the chapter in maintaining current membership and recruiting new members.

Professional Development Committee - Develops programs for the full-day and half-day professional development workshops.

Newsletter Committee - Responsible for developing content for La Puerta, the chapter’s newsletter.

Accreditation Committee - Assists with conducting the chapter’s study course for the PRSA Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) exam. Committee members also help find chapter members who are qualified to take the exam.

Awards Committee - Helps develop the annual Cumbre Awards competition, including award categories and the annual awards presentation program.

Student Chapter Liaison - A chapter member who holds the APR designation serves as a liaison with the University of New Mexico’s PRSSA chapter. The liaison reports to the NMPRSA Board on student activities.
