About NMPRSA
The New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NMPRSA) was founded in 1959 with the goal of providing professional information, networking and social activities to communication professionals involved in public relations, public affairs, marketing, promotions and development.
Events
The chapter generally meets on the last Thursday of the month (except when holidays conflict), and sponsors regular professional development seminars. NMPRSA also works with other professional communication organizations to sponsor activities.
Monthly luncheon meetings feature speakers from New Mexico and national organizations, all of who share their experiences in communication and public relations activities.
Benefits
New Mexico Chapter members have access to national PRSA resources, including magazines and newsletters, group insurance, the public relations body of knowledge, video information and other continuing education materials. Members also benefit from discounted luncheon events and may participate in local and national public relations award contests.
Members with five or more years of experience may qualify for the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) certification, a professional certification that indicates knowledge of public relations principles, ethics and techniques. NMPRSA conducts APR preparatory exam workshops twice a year to assist members in taking the national examination.
